Bill really isn't into the blog stuff, and I am. We actually have a fairly professional website set up on our home server but it's more for sharing files, pictures, etc. between close family since it's practically a gateway into everything we have on our computers at home. I have been wanting to make a more "user-friendly" family website that's easy to keep updated, but just didn't get around to it until everyone in Sunday School started exchanging family websites. Here is ours! I hope you enjoy. I'll use this first blog to tell everyone a little bit about our family (in case you weren't already aware).
Bill and I married March 10, 2007 (which makes 3 days from now our first anniversary...FUN). We met while attending Auburn, where Bill received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and I received my Bachelor's in Molecular Biology. Bill now works as an electrical engineer in the generator group at Southern Company. All I can tell you about his job is that he does preventative maintenance on the generators in Southern Company's power plants. I am in graduate school at UAB trying to get my PhD in pharmacology and toxicology. I actually do my thesis research at Southern Research Institute, and I am working on developing a chemoprevention drug for breast cancer (something women at high risk can take to significantly reduce their risk). It's a long-shot, but I love my work (most days).
We have no human children yet, but we are animal lovers and have several. I have an ~8 year old shih tzu named Winston and Bill has an ~8 year old cat named Aerial. Together we have two 1 year old brother kitties named Faraday and Paracelsus (did I mention we are big science nerds). We all live in a very beautiful (of course I'm biased) home in Alabaster, AL. We miss Auburn, but we are truly happy where we are. We have found an amazing church home in First Baptist Alabaster and are truly blessed in every aspect of our lives.
I guess this sums us up in a nutshell. We will try to keep this page updated with anything exciting or major happening in our lives.
Until next time, God bless!
