Wisdom Teeth and Promotions

I know it has been a while since we've updated everyone, so I thought I would take a quick minute to do so. A week and a half ago I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed. I was not one of those fast recoverers. The day after the surgery my left cheek swelled to the size of a baseball...not very attractive. It took over a week for the swelling to finally go away completely. My jaw is still a little sore, but overall I am doing much much better. Bill is such an amazing husband for putting up with me and taking such good care of me!

On a brighter note, Bill learned last week that he got a promotion at work. He moved up from an Engineer III to an Engineer II. He's excited about that. He got a nice positive review from his boss. No matter how modest we are, it's still nice to hear how much you are appreciated from time to time.

Friday I will be leaving for the American Association of Cancer Research (AACR) meeting in San Diego. Sunday I will be presenting a poster of my research, which I am very nervous about since this is the largest scientific conference in the United States. I am looking forward to the conference as whole, however. I think it will be interesting and fun. Wednesday Bill and I will meet in San Francisco where we will spend a couple days with my uncle before flying back to Birmingham Saturday. Please keep us in your prayers that we will have safe flights and a safe trip overall. We will see you when we return!
