Thanks Alabaster Water Board

So I came home yesterday evening to water gushing violently down my street. As I neared our house, I ventured upon a neighbor standing in his front yard watching a newly formed geiser flow from his beautifully manicured lawn. That's right folks, a water main had ruptured and was proceeding to spew water by the hundreds of gallons throughout our side of the neighborhood. I was rather surprised by all of this since our half of the neighborhood is less than ten years old, so, I would think, our water system couldn't be very old at all. Come to find out, the next door neighbor of the guy whose yard was destoryed had the exact same thing happen less than 3 years ago. I must say I was a bit apprehensive at first that it would take days to fix, especially considering that it took the first person from the water board over an hour and a half to respond to the call of the break. We did have to live without water last night, but the wonderful folks at the water board worked through the night to fix the pipe. I don't know how long it took them or when they finished, but I do know that when I went to take my shower at 4:30 this morning, I had water. It was a fairly interesting and eventful day in suburbia!

I'm glad your water was fixed quickly but I have one question... Why where you taking a shower at 4:30 AM?? That is still in the middle of the night.
