Bill and I completed another home improvement project this week - renovating the guest bathroom. Like the master bath, the guest bath had atrocious wallpaper that had to be removed, the walls repaired and repainted, the faucet replaced, etc. We thought the project was going a lot smoother this time because I actually folloed the directions on the wallpaper remover chemical. However, once we had spent 3 days removing wallpaper and mudding and sanding the walls, we realized that much of the primer on the walls was beginning to chip. Bill's sister was coming to visit this weekend so we knew the bathroom had to be semi-functional, so we took a chance and primed and painted anyway. Surprisingly, that seemed to be enough. The bathroom turned out great (we'll see how it holds up though), and we actually finished a whole day ahead of schedule. I have included some pictures of our great work below, but I only now realized that we have no before pictures. Oops.

Check out the toilet paper roll. I think this is a definite sign that my husband has been spending too much time in hotels.

Because we finished the guest bath early and it's looking like Memorial Day is going to be a wash-out (meaning no lake), we have decided to go ahead and knock out the half bath downstairs. Then comes the mack-daddy project, the reason it all began...the kitchen. I can not wait to have the kitchen re-done! I don't look forward to doing it, but I think it will be beautiful when it's finished. I have the most awesome mentor who has given me the first week of June off to help out with VBS, so Bill also took that week off and we are hoping to get the kitchen done that week. Hopefully I will still have a remnant of sanity after a week of teaching 5-year-old crafts and renovating a kitchen. Prayer will be appreciated!
