Praise and Prayer Request

As many of you probably know, I have been battling a thyroid condition for several years now. The past 2 years have been a constant parade of doctors visits, blood work, and medication changes trying to get it regulated. Just a few months ago, I was about ready to throw my hands up in defeat when my doctor was worried that we were going to have to start all over trying to get the meds regulated. I persevered and turned it over to God after a very long talk with a great lady I know who has been battling a similar condition for 20 years. Well, thanks to God, I have had 2 normal sets of blood work in a row, which means I get a whole 6 months free of doctors visits (assuming nothing goes wrong)! I do find it slightly amusing that all of the websites say thyroid conditions are no big deal because it's easily fixed with one pill once a day and everything goes back to normal. HAHAHA! I am actually on 5 pills - one for the thyroid and four to combat side effects of the first pill; it only took 2 years to get everything within the normal range; and some of the symptoms are still there. Honestly though, I can't complain. I feel better than I have in 5 years, I am otherwise healthy, and I have learned some really great skills to cope with the persistant symptoms (like always carry a jacket, a planner, and lots of ibuprofen). Having my medications regulated is such a relief and a HUGE PRAISE!

On a different note, I do ask each of you to pray for my impending visit with my sister Sunday. I have been in constant prayer about it, and I can feel God's presence, but there is still a bit of apprehension. I want so badly to have a relationship with her, but I recognize that there is a lot of work that we will both have to do in order for that to happen. Right now I just need for God to love her through me because I am not sure that I am capable (that whole agape thing from Bible study this week).
